Twinois a regulated platform under the investment brokerage license Supervised by Latvia's Financial and Capital Market Commission (FCMC).
The regulation gives additional security to investors. Investors’ uninvested funds and investments in the sets of loans (notes) are protected by an investor compensation scheme.
This allows retail investors to receive compensation for 90% of the permanent loss resulting from a failure or fraudulent activities of Mintos up to a limit of €20 000.
Importantly, this does not protect your invested capital from the risk of loans defaulting.
Twino has a secondary market, where investors can place their investments in loans for sale to other Twino investors.
This offers a possibility for a sale of a loan before its maturity and ensures additional liquidity for the investors.
All loans placed on Twino come with a buyback obligation.
The buyback obligation is a credit enhancement given by the lending company or other entity of a lending company group to the investor for a particular loan.
If the loan defaults or is more than 60 days late, the lending company must buy back the investment at nominal value plus the accrued interest.
Twino has an auto invest feature, that allows you to create automated investment strategies that automatically reinvest the interest earned.
